New “26mm BTL Short Neck” cap for still water

Building on a customized solution, developed for a North American customer in 2008, Corvaglia has developed an optimized still water neck finish/cap concept, which is now available for any bottler. The new cap weighs 0.95 grams, compared with the 1.60 grams of the original cap. The bottle neck finish was successfully reduced from 3.15 grams to 1.75 grams. With an annual volume of over 1 billion bottles and closures this light-weighting exercise results in a saving of over 2,000 tonnes of plastic material and a reduction in energy consumption of approximately 50% without losing downstream performance.

Corvaglia at DRINKTEC

Corvaglia will present this concept and other future-oriented and economical cap solutions from September 14th until 19th at drinktec in Munich. The PETpoint booth is in Hall B3, Stand 303. The CSN-26 Still Water BTL Short Neck will also be presented by PET Engineering on their booth right adjacent to Corvaglia. PET Engineering applies the CSN-26 Still Water BTL Short Neck as part of a newly developed lightweight bottle solution.
